Over 400 pupils and 20 teachers from Murrayburn School Edinburgh set off by train today on an educational trip to St Andrews. They boarded the train at Gorgie East and travelled via the Forth Bridge to Perth, Dundee and St Andrews, returning by the East Fife coast route, taking in the familiar holiday resorts of Crail, Anstruther, Elie, Largo and Leven. During the excursion commentaries were given on the places geographical and historical interest. "News" photo shows pupils on their way to the station.

All carriages were fitted with TV Monitors and some pupils were interviewed in a small studio on the train.

Identified so far are George Somerville in the leather cap at the front and centre right Alex Allan with his scarf in his pocket.
