Adjacent to the canal was the 34/35 bus terminus with a driver/conductor bothy and toilet that was regularly broken into and used as a makeshift gang-hut until it was retaken. The terminus was bordered by an open grassy area that served very well as a rather sloping football pitch. The buses provided more unconventional sport, i.e. jumping on and off departing and arriving vehicles, and later begging to be allowed on the top deck to search for abandoned fag ends we could recycle.( Continued in Part Four)
