About this memory
With the help of some very sturdy snow boots (my family laughed when I packed them before moving up, but they've been a lifesaver...) I made it all the way to the Meadows in very deep snow, and was struck by how much the whole place looked like an old painting. The snow had wiped out all of the detail in the scene and the families were playing against a pure white backdrop, surrounded by feathery trees.
I took this photo with my mother's old SLR film camera.
